Do Women In Tokyo Really Get Molested In Buses

Honeymoon - Tokyo Day 1

For our honeymoon, my husband and I decided to go to Japan.
Actually, Japan is a passion of mine, he would have preferred New York, but there it is easier (and cheaper) to get here, while coming to the island of the Rising Sun is much more expensive.
not tell you how excited I was leaving, and the flight during which I disposed of the fatigue accumulated before marriage.
the way, we Following the advice of more than a friend and we did not start immediately after the ceremony, it was good because in the confusion of the last days surely we left at home half the things needed for the trip.
After more than 13 hours of flight, we finally arrived in Tokyo. Since my husband smokes, he wanted a cigarette after many hours of abstinence, but was forced to fumarsela in a booth full of smelly fog.
In fact, in Japan you do not smoke, do not smoke and I mean no smoking in the street, the streets are strictly non-smoking and the poor slaves of cigarette smoking can only booth or in special areas allocated to them.
What is really strange, because in many bars and restaurants you can smoke (they have a great ventilation system) and everywhere there are advertisements for cigarettes, which show that people who smoke is cool, but you can not smoke on the street because ( so I told a friend) is a bad example for children.
Oh well.
To travel from the airport to the hotel there are many ways, but we have chosen the limousine bus. These are the buses that stop off from Narita for the most important hotel is convenient, and cheap too, seeing as we have spent 25 € to head against the 200 alleged by driving the taxi, not counting we loaded the suitcases and then resume in front of the hotel, without having to drag them up and down the various metros.
Our hotel was in the Shinjuku district, known for its skyscrapers, the room was beautiful, with sweeping views of the neighborhood.

Since we arrived at seven in the evening and considering that it took us over an hour to get to the hotel, it was time to eat, so we had a ride and we had dinner in a nice restaurant, where my husband and I took a omoteraiso of ramen.
Incidentally, I was shaking sleep, because during the whole trip I could not sleep a wink, in intercontinental flights close the windows and lowered the lights (which I find very irritating, because if I arrive at their destination at night, after sleeping all this time I do not understand more nothing!), but I did not sleep and I watched a little 'film, the choice was wise because I have not heard the jet-lag, I was falling to sleep at night, but the next morning I was awake like a grasshopper.

Tokyo is absolutely wonderful, despite being one of the most densely populated city, stroll through its streets is very pleasant experiences, there is very green and the Japanese use the bicycle a lot, so overall there is not much smog (if we exclude the area around the Imperial area, where we focus most of government buildings and therefore very busy).

The Shinjuku district is full of skyscrapers and modern, can be divided into two parts, Higashi and Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku.
The area of \u200b\u200bNishi-Shinjuku (where it was in our hotel) is modern, whole skyscrapers, but at the same time warm and cold at all.

To note the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, designed by Kenzo Tange and similar a futuristic Notre-Dame, you can climb up to the terraces of the towers to enjoy the view.

After a stroll in this area we arrived at Higashi-Shinjuku, through a myriad of narrow streets full of shops, which are committed outside the store are inviting people to enter.
I noticed in Japan this spirit a bit 'to' market ', that is often outside the shops there is someone who invites you to enter the cry of Irasshaimase (welcome) and explaining what you can find in the store, a What type and accattateve cazettin.
For Higashi-Shinjuku is not difficult notice the giant screen of Studio Alta, cha we used as a reference point to start the tour of this area.
Since I do not know how to orient ourselves, we asked for information to a gentleman, but it took us two hours to explain that we tried the Studio Alta, due to the different pronunciation between the Japanese and Italian, in the end the man has understood and accompanied us almost at your destination.
This is something that happened often, when asked for information, their kindness was extreme, they made sure that we found the right way, when a boy took us to the destination (I suppose that also has made a tremendous deviation from his trip).

After a walk around the neighborhood, we decided to go in the district of Asakusa, as a flier he had informed of the progress of the matsuri, that is a summer festival.
Imagine if we could not miss such an occasion!
We took the Metro to the neighborhood of Asakusa, a very picturesque place and where there is a beautiful temple, the Senso-ji.
See the illuminated temple festival was a unique experience, and the other temples I've seen, even by the most beautiful architectural point of view, I do not have the same emotion. Although visiting the beautiful temples Japanese I understood why when they see our buildings remain open mouth and there's a big difference in architecture and a closer look at the buildings so far away from our culture is wonderful, no photo can prepare what you feel by looking closely .

The festival lasts two days, but the first day we arrived late and had already finished everything, but in fact we got there at 10 pm, convinced that the celebrations would last until late, because they do not yet know the habit the Japanese to come home very soon.
But it was already finished all the stalls were closed, local residents were returning home rather tipsy for the festivities.
We were there pretty bad, but we made it a trip to the temple, with the intention to come back the next day.
We decided to go back to the hotel and come back the next day to enjoy the party.
